ride safe
Poipu's roads are beautiful but often narrow, with little shoulder and no sidewalk in places. A few simple habits keep your ride easy and safe.
Helmet on, every ride. One comes free with every rental, and the blind curves and narrow lanes around the South Shore make it well worth it.
Stay close to Poipu Beach. The coastal path runs most of the way from the Hyatt to Spouting Horn and keeps you off the busy roads.
Avoid the fast roads. The Tree Tunnel (Maluhia Road) and Koloa Road toward Lawai are narrow, 35 to 50 mph, and have no shoulder.
Ride with traffic, single file, and stay as far right as you can where there is no shoulder or sidewalk.
Watch for cars leaving resorts and driveways, and slow down for people walking near the beaches.
Use your lights toward dusk, and take it slow on unpaved stretches like the Maha'ulepu road where the gravel is loose.
Reserve in a couple of taps and we will have your bikes ready when you arrive.
